But if you're nervous about spending the cash, then go for the $5 base game.
I've only just now started my 2nd character with mods fully loaded, and its like playing it new all over again. Once a year I revisit it because it's remained fun this entire time. It's given me over 400 hours of entertainment since launch, and I am by no means a hard-core gamer.
But if you do it right, the mods can really make the game 10x more enjoyable.Įdit2: Also, to answer your question, I fully believe $60 is a fair price for this game. You'll want to pay attention to load order, mods compatibility, and save states. Mods are not plug'n'play, meaning you can't just turn them on and off all willy nilly. No other form of entertainment is that cheap, so it's money well spent.Įdit: If you do play with mods, I very highly suggest checking out this post first. If you're all in for $60 and it entertains you for 200 hours, then you only spent $0.30 per hour. If you still want more after that, then spend the money to get the DLC. It'll take around 150 hours to fully explore.
Recently, Fallout 4 came up on game pass, so I decided to install it, since it would be easy to access. Its the disk version, if that helps any in what Im about to say. So Ive had fallout 4 GOTY for quite some time, but Ive had it uninstalled for a while now since I didnt play it much. I'd say spend the $5 to get the base game. Fallout 4 goty addons, and fallout 4 through game pass. You lose the ability to gain achievements, but who really cares about imaginary bragging points? Just have fun. For example, there are mods that let your track NPCs, make settlement crafting easier, add tons of craftable items, and create really compelling mini quests. Plus, a lot of what people say the add-ons fix can be achieved with mods anyway. But we all played base Fo4 before the DLC came out and it was still great. Do the add-ons contain a lot of quality of life improvements? Of course. Complete Fix guide for all Fallout GamesĪll Posts must be directly related to Fallout. What it appears to be is that it reverted my GOTY edition to a regular edition once I downloaded it from game pass. Before anyone asks, I already checked manage my addon's, and when I try to go to microsoft store, it just puts me to an editions page where it tries to make me buy a version of fallout 4.
If I recall correctly, this is the second time I've had issues with fallout 4 and its DLC, first time being when I originally bought the GOTY edition, and the DLC wouldn't download via the code.
So here I am, trying to find out how to get my DLC back because I'm not paying for the DLC a second time. So I went on to Xbox support hoping to contact an online agent, where I found that I'm not allowed to contact an agent about missing DLC. That's when I found out that I no longer had the DLC's, despite owning them, and playing them in the past. I eventually found it had none of the DLC's that I owned, so I decided to uninstall the game pass version and download it from the disc. It's the disk version, if that helps any in what I'm about to say. So I've had fallout 4 GOTY for quite some time, but I've had it uninstalled for a while now since I didn't play it much.
